    25 Years of Policy, Growth, and Results: What Florida Got Right and What comes Next.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER

    • As an attorney with over 30 years of experience, Bill Galvano has successfully litigated jury and bench trials in both state and federal courts in Florida and other states. Bill concentrates his trial practice in the areas of civil and commercial litigation. His practice also includes assisting clients with regulatory issues and government relations including procurement. In addition, Bill has substantial experience in representing clients in sophisticated commercial and business transactions.
    • Bill Galvano is a former member of the Florida Senate. He was elected to the Senate in 2012 and has represented Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highlands, and Hillsborough Counties. Galvano served as Majority Leader of the Senate for the 2014-2016 term and then was chosen by his fellow senators to serve as the 88th President of the Florida Senate for the 2018-2020 term.
    • While in the Senate, Galvano served on the following committees: Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education (Chairman), Full Appropriations, Education, Governmental Oversight and Accountability, Rules, Transportation, Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism and Economic Development and Joint Legislative Budget Commission.
    • Before being elected to the Senate, Galvano served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives. In his final term in the Florida House, 2008-2010, he served as Chairman of the Rules and Calendar Council. He also served on the transition team for Governor Rick Scott, now a U.S. Senator.
    • Galvano has been recognized by many organizations for his work in K-12 and higher education, healthcare, State infrastructure, protecting children, and supporting people with unique abilities. He was the sponsor of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas School Safety Act in 2018 following the tragic shooting in Parkland.
    • Through the Annual Phil Galvano Golf Classic, now in its 30th year, Galvano has raised millions of dollars for public schools to provide enhanced educational opportunities for students and teachers. As an advocate for the homeless, he has helped serve countless people through the Bill Galvano Center at the Turning Points facility in Bradenton. He has been very active with Mote Marine Laboratory for over 30 years.
    • Growing up the son of a P.G.A. Golf Professional, Bill Galvano is a golf enthusiast and avid player. Currently living in Bradenton, Bill and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of three adult children: Michael, William, and Jacqueline.

              ABOUT THE EVENT

              • The Flagler Tiger Bay Club will host its 2026 City Council and County Commission Candidate Forum on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Palm Coast Community Center, bringing together candidates seeking local office for an evening of public discussion and voter engagement.

              • The nonpartisan forum will feature qualified candidates for the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners Districts 2 and 4, as well as Palm Coast City Council Districts 2, 3, and 4. The event will begin with a Candidate Meet and Greet from 5:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m., followed by the Candidate Forum at 6:00 p.m.  
              • Designed as a high-information community event, the forum will provide voters and stakeholders an opportunity to hear directly from candidates on issues impacting Flagler County and the City of Palm Coast. Questions will be developed from community interviews, public submissions, Tiger Bay Club membership input, and the event panelists. Candidates will respond to moderated questions, with opportunities for follow-up discussion and rebuttal when referenced by another candidate.
              • The forum will be moderated under the principles of civility, respect, and constructive dialogue. A diverse interview panel representing business, education, faith, and community leadership will participate in the discussion.
              • The event will be livestreamed on the Flagler Tiger Bay Club Facebook page, Flagler News Weekly, FlaglerLive, Palm Coast Observer, and Ask Flagler, and simulcast live on Flagler Broadcasting’s WNZF 94.9 FM News Radio, as well as streamed live on Flagler Broadcasting’s YouTube and Facebook channels.  
              • NOTE: The forum is intended to educate voters while maintaining a respectful and issue-focused environment ahead of the 2026 election season. This event is open to the public. Registration is not required. Food/Beverages will be available for purchase from World Plate Catering, on site.
