Events over the past several years has made school safety a major concern and focus nationally and of every State and Local jurisdiction. At the end of the day, the responsibility for school safety falls to Local jurisdictions. Those responsibilities include risk assessments, mitigation, preventative measures and deterrence, security, response, recovery, and community healing. How is Flagler County positioned? What plans and programs does Flagler County have in place? What have been some of the results? What are the local concerns?
In addition to the moderator, prepared Panel questions will be coming from a Stakeholder Focus Group comprised of students, teacher and teacher union representatives, PTO parent representatives, Flagler County Sheriff’s Student Resource Officer representative, and a representative from the Department of Social Services. Written questions will be taken from Members of Flagler Tiger Bay Club.
